the importance of friendship: Carmie Nigro

Before I start, here's a little bit about me. My name is Carmie Nigro and I'm a sophomore at Miami University. I belong to the most incredible group of girls and love to call Alpha Xi Delta home. Living with every single sister is the best thing ever. Not only because it’s fun, but it’s also comforting to know that there's someone on the other side of the wall at any time if you need something.

Friendships to me are people who will love and support you no matter what and I’m so grateful to say I have some pretty amazing humans surrounding me. Finding these people wasn’t always easy, sometimes you'll get wrapped up in the wrong crowd. I’ve experienced this a few times, but where I am now with my relationships is exactly where I would've hoped to be a few years ago. If you're going through a situation similar to that, trusttttt me there is always a happy, bright ending!

I will say though that a huge amount of these friendships came from rushing, the best decision I've made in my life and I mean that because they aren’t just friends for four years, these friendships are for life. Friendships don’t have to be just girls too, I have exact copies of my brothers around me at all times, and believe it or not, that’s a good thing!!

The last thing I have to say is to keep in touch with these special people and check up on them because life moves fast and I wouldn’t want to miss out on one dance session, debrief session, and laughing so hard I have to lie on the ground and catch my breath. I can’t wait to meet many more of the most kind, funny, caring, and supportive people to fill my heart even more!!!!
